I went into a store a few weeks ago just to look around and I saw a table with a few cell phones on it and decided to look into the pricing listed (this phone was listed as an upgrade for just $49.99). I wasn’t really sure I qualified but it looked good enough for $50 that it would be a nice upgrade to my old LG Shine.
What an understatement. Ok, this phone is not as capable as an IPhone. So what? You can get it for less money, it has fairly easy controls to operate it, and texting is very easy with it. I could not be happier with it and highly recommend this phone to anyone who wants an easy to use phone/texting combo.
Easily store many numbers and names for snap dialing to necessary people. When you need to talk this thing makes it easy for you to do so. I could not be happier with it. Didn’t I say that already.
Great phone. I cannot believe the list price. I find it to be perfect for my needs. I use it mainly as a business phone.
Look into this before you buy something a lot more expensive. If you can get a great phone AND save money, you then have nothing to lose but the price.

I bought the original LG Prada (KE850) as a birthday gift my wife last year. It was a very fashionable and stylish looking phone, which my wife (in her early 30s) loves, but the reception and the missing 850Mhz band left something to be desired on the AT&T wireless network, which is reasonable as this phone was never intended for the US market. It would probably work better on T-Mobile US network (since they don’t use 850 band). We ended up returning it because of that. Mind you, the software on this phone is very simple and basic, which is perfect for my wife since she hardly text and rarely used anything else.

I was excited when the Prada II is announced and it comes with quad-band this time (however, 3G would only work outside of US)! However, I was disappointed as soon as I found out they decided to add a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Seeing in person (at CES) how much thicker the new phone turned me off. It has gained 40% in thickness (16.8mm versus the older but slimmer 12mm Prada I) and slightly taller than the old phone (quarter inch). The “Ooze” factor of the original Prada phone is gone. This new phone would be a good choice for these who texts often but doesn’t want another me-too looking phones. However, for my wife, the weight-gain is a deal-breaker.

Pros -
- Great Looker, cant think of a better looking candy bar phone out there.
- You cant stop playing with this beauty.
- Touch screen is super sensitive, making the investment in touch screen experience worth it.
- This is a good choice if you want to be different from the iphone crowd and also want to make a statement. (Iphone is too big for me, this is perfect length.)
- Has a great battery Life. Easy to Navigate. Decent camera and video in bright lighting, FM radio, MP3 player, bluetooth music headset support, Micro SD card slot, 256 mb card included, speaker phone.
- It is slightly slimmer and classier than the LG VU or other similar LG US models.

Motion sensor game - Using advanced motion sensor technology, the LG-KP500 adds more fun interactivity to games so users can enjoy mobile entertainment in a more dynamic and exciting way. The games loaded on the LG-KP500 use a motion sensor that requires the user’s eye-hand coordination to balance, flip, shift, and twist the handset to play the games. Auto rotating display - The QWERTY onscreen keyboard slides into view when the LG-KP500 is held horizontally, and the auto rotating display always shifts images or documents for proper viewing no matter which way the handset is turned. The appearance of the phone is not sacrificed with the embedded, artfully “concealed” in the handset.

Bought this camera for my wife as a surprise upgrade from her Motorola C139 - what a big mistake! While the Shine is very good looking, the metal casing makes the phone much more heavy (good thing for some)and thicker than shown on the ads.
what is truly bad with this phone is the poor software which has several layers to get what you want. For example you can’t get to your telephone directory list w/o doing a search for by name. On the C139, you simply press the “up” or “down” arrow, and you are taken directly to your directory list.

Okay, so it looks like a “calculator” from the front, but there’s so much more to it. I’ve had this phone for about 2 weeks, upgrading from the Motorola krazr. At first, I had to get used to the QWERTY keyboard, which is little compact, but pretty cool. The Fn key is handy for setting up to 10 short cuts. The directional pad is easier for even more shorcuts!
Battery life: lasts 2-3 days, lasts 1-2 days if frequently using vcast extras.
