I went into a store a few weeks ago just to look around and I saw a table with a few cell phones on it and decided to look into the pricing listed (this phone was listed as an upgrade for just $49.99). I wasn’t really sure I qualified but it looked good enough for $50 that it would be a nice upgrade to my old LG Shine.
What an understatement. Ok, this phone is not as capable as an IPhone. So what? You can get it for less money, it has fairly easy controls to operate it, and texting is very easy with it. I could not be happier with it and highly recommend this phone to anyone who wants an easy to use phone/texting combo.
Easily store many numbers and names for snap dialing to necessary people. When you need to talk this thing makes it easy for you to do so. I could not be happier with it. Didn’t I say that already.
Great phone. I cannot believe the list price. I find it to be perfect for my needs. I use it mainly as a business phone.
Look into this before you buy something a lot more expensive. If you can get a great phone AND save money, you then have nothing to lose but the price.

SONY ERICSSON

By far the best Sony Ericsson product I’ve owned. Which really doesn’t say that much because the last one was an AT&T branded z750a, which wasn’t terrible.. just had that nasty “hey, I’m going to turn off now, kthxbai!” glitch.
Lets star with the Pros.
Big bright screen, even scratch resistant. However I do recommend a screen protector, Expert Shield makes a good one *hint*.
Solid keypad and face buttons.
Clear call quality
Sliding motion is slick and tight.
Stereo speakers
Lot of pre-installed apps and themes
Acellerometer, it has its uses.
Walkman 3.0 player
3.2mp camera. Pictures qaulity is good.
Comes with everything - 2GB M2 card, USB cable, M2 to USB adapter, ear buds. About $50+ worth of accessories, give or take.

CONS
Oddly placed walkman button, i sometimes press it while sliding the phone down
Slide feels a bit wobbly when slid out. It’s not real bad, but enough to make you be carefull with it.
soft plastic. I dropped mine a few feet when i was laying on my bed and it landed on it’s charger where it plugs into the phone and put a tiny nick into the plastic, barely noticable but still there.
Ear buds are kinda big and they don’t fit in my ear real well, but the sound qaulity is top notch.

I bought the original LG Prada (KE850) as a birthday gift my wife last year. It was a very fashionable and stylish looking phone, which my wife (in her early 30s) loves, but the reception and the missing 850Mhz band left something to be desired on the AT&T wireless network, which is reasonable as this phone was never intended for the US market. It would probably work better on T-Mobile US network (since they don’t use 850 band). We ended up returning it because of that. Mind you, the software on this phone is very simple and basic, which is perfect for my wife since she hardly text and rarely used anything else.

I was excited when the Prada II is announced and it comes with quad-band this time (however, 3G would only work outside of US)! However, I was disappointed as soon as I found out they decided to add a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Seeing in person (at CES) how much thicker the new phone turned me off. It has gained 40% in thickness (16.8mm versus the older but slimmer 12mm Prada I) and slightly taller than the old phone (quarter inch). The “Ooze” factor of the original Prada phone is gone. This new phone would be a good choice for these who texts often but doesn’t want another me-too looking phones. However, for my wife, the weight-gain is a deal-breaker.

Case

The case is a perfect fit & well designed. Every opening & button/switch is protected. This will not fit into any dock but for me that is not an issue. The touch screen is not inhibited by the built in screen protector. The “watermark” issue with screen protector is easily remedied. Search youtube for this product & there you will find an excellent video by itsmemorpheus The speakers are not muffled. My phone has been dropped, knocked off my desk, splashed on & their is not one blemish or change in functionality. If you are concerned about fully protecting your precious iPhone like I am then look no further this is the case for you.

My 2 year old motorola beats this thing hands down. Rugbys texting really really sucks, not user friendly very slow no auto complete as my old motorola had. It also has about half of the battery life of the old Motorola.
Oh ya while we are at it all of you ptt engineers out there fix the software so the ptt can be locked out! This does not take a genius to figure out that people want this option “my motorola sucked in this dept as well”.
As for a working mans phone why the heck isn’t the clock visible on the face when the phone is closed? Working guys don’t want to open up the phone to see what time it is!

Data Cable

I took a chance and purchased this cable. It works. I have a Samsung Eternity A867 from AT&T. I installed the New Samsung PC Studio from Samsung and used the drivers from their website. I did not try the mini CD that came with the cable as the program an older version of the softaware needed to transfer items to and from the phone. My PC is running Vista SP1 and I had no problems using this cable. I had more problems trying to setup a bluetooth connection which is why I bought the cable.

NOKIA

I bought this phone as a replacement for my Nokia E51 business smartphone. I know this choice sounds odd. I just accidentally dropped my E51 in water and needed an inexpensive phone I can use before I can get a free upgrade from AT&T.
This phone is slim and build quality is good for the price. As for the low call/speakerphone volume, you can actually increase it (and it gets really loud). I assigned the “volume” function to one of the keys (Settings > My Shortcuts) and now can adjust the volume (even while you talk). Reception is above average.
