I bought the original LG Prada (KE850) as a birthday gift my wife last year. It was a very fashionable and stylish looking phone, which my wife (in her early 30s) loves, but the reception and the missing 850Mhz band left something to be desired on the AT&T wireless network, which is reasonable as this phone was never intended for the US market. It would probably work better on T-Mobile US network (since they don’t use 850 band). We ended up returning it because of that. Mind you, the software on this phone is very simple and basic, which is perfect for my wife since she hardly text and rarely used anything else.

I was excited when the Prada II is announced and it comes with quad-band this time (however, 3G would only work outside of US)! However, I was disappointed as soon as I found out they decided to add a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Seeing in person (at CES) how much thicker the new phone turned me off. It has gained 40% in thickness (16.8mm versus the older but slimmer 12mm Prada I) and slightly taller than the old phone (quarter inch). The “Ooze” factor of the original Prada phone is gone. This new phone would be a good choice for these who texts often but doesn’t want another me-too looking phones. However, for my wife, the weight-gain is a deal-breaker.

I will admit to initially having some of the same frustration(s) with this device, to which others have alluded, and I, also, considered returning it within the thirty-day period allotted by Verizon. However, the capabilities of the HTC Touch Pro are extensive, and I found it difficult to fully appreciate everything the device can do in six weeks, let alone three or four.
First, my hands and fingers are larger than average, but I’ve found it easy and quick to navigate using the touch-screens and buttons. I use the stylus from time-to-time, and my experience is that it is sometimes necessary to use it when objects are crowded close together on the touch-screen, but I found this to be an infrequent necessity. The keyboard is very good, though I initially found the odd placement of the letter “M” a little disconcerting, but I did eventually get used to its location. These are certainly things one can try out in any Verizon store, and don’t have to be left to chance; the same with build-quality, which I’ve found to be very good, check it out to your own satisfaction.

First, I bought this phone thinking that it would resolve the problems I was having with my treo 750…HA! It has created more problems than solutions. Touch screen doesn’t respond as you would expect and as stated in other reviews the widgets are small and sometimes hard to manage.

First let me start by saying that I’ve owned this phone for a month already and im VERY HAPPY with it. It feels solid in your hands id does not freeze at all, like the n96 when you fill up the memory. Before i bought this phone i owned the nokia n95 (great device) and the nokia N96(more memory but not so good) The only reason i did not give this nokia 5800 five starts its because of the camara quality which by the way is good but the n95 and n96 were better quality camaras and also video recording capabilities.

Product Description
3-Inch Full touch screen- The 3.0 inch wide full touch screen is more screen real estate to better enjoy watching videos, playing games, and looking at photos. Bigger is better and that also makes it easier to use by physical touch since larger icons are easier to navigate than smaller ones. Active flash UI - The user interface is so intuitive that users will want to explore and master all of the functions and features of the LG-KP500. The UI allows users to access menus easily and shift around other menus simply and quickly with just one touch. Handwriting and Editing- The easy-to-use smart handwriting recognition function of the LG-KP500 allows users to send text messages without using the touch keyboard. It is possible to write in complicated languages such as Chinese. In the photo mode, users can easily edit their photos with the stylus pen. Motion sensor game - Using advanced motion sensor technology, the LG-KP500 adds more fun interactivity to games so users can enjoy mobile entertainment in a more dynamic and exciting way. The games loaded on the LG-KP500 use a motion sensor that requires the user’s eye-hand coordination to balance, flip, shift, and twist the handset to play the games. Auto rotating display - The QWERTY onscreen keyboard slides into view when the LG-KP500 is held horizontally, and the auto rotating display always shifts images or documents for proper viewing no matter which way the handset is turned. Embedded stylus pen - Since the stylus is embedded in the handset, the user instantly write a memo or edit a photo without having to search around for the stylus pen which often gets lost or misplaced. The appearance of the phone is not sacrificed with the embedded, artfully “concealed” in the handset.

The case is a perfect fit & well designed. Every opening & button/switch is protected. This will not fit into any dock but for me that is not an issue. The touch screen is not inhibited by the built in screen protector. The “watermark” issue with screen protector is easily remedied. Search youtube for this product & there you will find an excellent video by itsmemorpheus The speakers are not muffled. My phone has been dropped, knocked off my desk, splashed on & their is not one blemish or change in functionality. If you are concerned about fully protecting your precious iPhone like I am then look no further this is the case for you.

Pros:
BROWSER! Awesome, quick, faster than my friends’ blackberry 8900 when performing the same search.
Touchscreen. I had a Samsung Behold for two days before I returned it and went for the G1. The G1 screen is SO much more responsive and so easy to use. Scroll Ball. SOOOO much better than my Curve’s scroll bar. And it doesn’t get dirty so easily.
